Central Park

When New York City's Central Park was created in the 1860's it displaced more than 1600 poor residents who had been living in the area. Many of them where immigrants, freed slaves and others with small gardens or pig farms.
Central Park was modeled after London’s Hyde Park and Paris’ Bois do Boulogne.
