First Men on the Moon

As you probably know Neil Armstrong was the first man on the moon. Buzz Aldrin was second and Pete Conrad was third. (Pete was 5 months after the first 2) According to the book Rocket Men. The choice that made Armstrong the first was discussed and debated for months before.

Riply's Believe it or not claimed in 1932 that the Great Wall, "would be visible to the human eye from the moon". When the statement was made it was difficult to disprove. No astronaut ever claimed that they could see China's most famous landmark from the moon. Some say that it would be like seeing a human hair from two miles away.
